The middle ear and the Eustachian tube, in addition to their primary functions in hearing and maintaining balance, are anatomically connected to the nasal cavity and participate in the respiratory system in a manner analogous to the paranasal sinuses. This anatomical continuity necessitates thorough evaluation for rhinosinusitis in all patients presenting with infectious symptoms involving the middle ear or Eustachian tube.

In our clinical practice, we have adopted the Thuy Tran Technique (TTT) as both a diagnostic and therapeutic technique has demonstrated a high level of safety and clinical efficacy and was officially granted a Copyright Certificate by the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam in 2013.

Furthermore, we propose the integration of the Minimalist Sinus Operating Technique (MIST) with the subsequent application of TTT in postoperative care. This combined approach enhances treatment effectiveness and supports comprehensive management of CRS.

Chronic Rhinosinusitis and COVID-19

Olfactory dysfunction is a popular symtome of COVID-19, although a loss of smell may present in general population before COVID-19 in some people.

This disease getting in the Post-COVID-19 pandemic.

The combination technique (CT) is a simple work, only cutting the uncinate process and the lateral side of the middle turbinate and cleaning nasal sinus by TTT, respect all of natural windows of sinus system.

After treatment by the TTT and CT, all normal functions of nasal sinus is rehabilitated even the Smell.

Subject: This is a simple clinical report on diagnosis and topical treatment of chronic rhino sinusitis happening after getting the Post-COVID-19 pandemic. Method: 30 chronic sinus infectious patients from 14-75 years old having the history of the Post COVID-19 pandemic infection more four months before our examination. Diagnosed by the nasal cavity endoscopic technique of Thuỷ Trần (TTT), X-ray and giving the topical treatment by the TTT. Having two patients groups. One group getting the treatment by the TTT only, cleaning sinus areas by Natri Clorid and antibiotics solution. Other group, getting the combination method: getting a Minimally Invasive Sinus Technique (MIST) - cutting the uncinate process and lateral sides of the middle turbinate and then giving the TTT treatment.

The TTT and the Combination Technique (CT) are symply, applying with the local anesthetic. Under the endoscopic system, you may see the purulent from sinuses quickly becomes the sticky drips. After small operation, cleaning by the suction tubes of TTTtaking out the infectious liquids from the natural windows of sinuses and giving the topical antibiotics solution.

Result: Getting the excellent results in the treatment of two patients groups. Our treatment techniques are simple, safe, patient quickly getting a normal ventilation system and the normal smell!.

(Caution: we cannot make the test of bacteria because of the laboratory too far from my clinic).
